Email settings

Each Method account is pre-configured to allow up to 500 emails to be sent out. It is highly recommended you configure your email settings within your Method account so you can continue to enjoy sending emails out of Method.

Setting up Personal Settings

Setting up your personal settings only affect you, and does not affect any other users within the Method account. 

To access your personal settings, click the Gear icon in the upper right corner of the screen and choose Preferences > Email. You should see the following under Personal Settings:

  • Email Address
    • This field is the “from” email when you send an email out from Method.
      Note: some customizations may override this for another email.
    • This is also where your internal email notifications are sent.
  • Email Signature
    • The text input box, although not labeled, is your email signature and may be included in emails sent out from this user.
      Note: not all email templates include the email signature.
  • Use company email settings
    • When checked, you will use the outgoing email server as set up for your company. 
    • When unchecked, you can specify different outgoing mail server information to be used when this user is sending out emails from Method. Note that this will not allow you to receive email. Method is not an email client, and will not receive emails sent to you.

If you want to use a different email server than the one set up by your company, you will need to uncheck Use company email settings and fill in the appropriate information. This does not affect other users and they will use whatever email server they have set up in their own profiles.

The settings for your email server will depend on your email provider. We’ve provided steps for the most commonly used providers below.

Company Settings

The company settings will provide all users in your Method account an email server that will send email out. Note that this will not allow you to receive email. Method is not an email client, and will not receive emails sent to you.

  1. From your Method dashboard, click the Gear icon and choose Preferences > Email.
