Connecting to your Gmail Gadget

IMPORTANT: please refer to this FAQ article regarding Method’s current Gmail Gadget

The Gmail Gadget for Method is available to users of Method and Google Apps. It will only work if you have G Suite

In order to use the Gmail Gadget, it needs to be added by the administrator to your Google Apps account. The gadget will not appear if it hasn't been added to your Google Apps account first!

  1. Sign into Method via the Sign in with Google button.
  2. Go back to your Gmail account. Sign out and sign back into Gmail.
  3. Open an email of your choice.
  4. Scroll to the bottom of the email. You should see a blue bar. Select Sign into Method CRM.
  5. When prompted to choose your gmail account to sign in as, choose your account.
  6. If you have multiple Method accounts, you will be asked which one to connect to.
    Only one Method account can be connected to the Gmail Gadget.

When finished, the Gmail Gadget will be connected to your Method account!

Connection Troubleshooting

If your account does not connect to the Gmail Gadget, verify within Method itself.

  1. Sign into Method.
  2. Select the gear in the upper right and then select Preferences.
  3. On the left Preferences menu, choose Integrations.
  4. Select Edit Gmail Gadget Settings.

At the top you will find the Personal Settings for the Gmail Gadget. There are a few things to try if your gadget isn't connecting.

  • If the settings state "Gmail Gadget is not currently connected":
    1. Select Connect to This Company Account.
    2. A notice that the Gmail Gadget is connected will pop up.
    3. Sign into Gmail and try connecting again.
  • If you do not see "Gmail Gadget is not currently connected" then you should try resetting the connection:
    1. Uncheck Enable the Gmail Gadget.
    2. Scroll to the bottom and select Save to save the settings.
    3. Sign into Gmail and try connecting again.
