How Method is Getting Ready for GDPR

What is GDPR?

GDPR stands for General Data Protection Regulation, which imposes new rules on companies processing personal data of “subjects” residing in the European Union. This means that any information related to a natural person or “Data Subject” that can be used to directly or indirectly identify the subject must be processed according to GDPR guidelines.

Why was this policy created?

The policy was created with the intention of safeguarding citizens by giving them control of their personal data. We respect our users’ privacy, and as such we are updating our Privacy Policy to comply with GDPR guidelines.

How does GDPR apply to Method?

GDPR applies to Method in a number of ways, including:

  • As a Data Controller, where Method handles data about our customers for our own purposes, such as marketing activities.
  • As a Data Processor, where Method provides software to our customers which allows them to become Data Controllers of the data they store about their customers.

What is Method doing to become GDPR Compliant?

Method is committed to taking a holistic approach to become GDPR compliant. We have an internal team working through all the requirements to be met, and are in the process of identifying and executing steps to ensure that Method’s data privacy remains a top priority. We have updated our Privacy Policy to ensure transparency regarding what data we process and how we do so.

We recognize that our customers are also making efforts to comply with GDPR guidelines. As such, Method is committed to helping our customers by offering a product that allows them to meet these requirements.
